IRON DUKE CHALLENGE 13th MAY -29th MAY 2022

My Story

I served 12 years in the British Army in The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, the 33rd & 76th of foot. During lockdown one I was inspired by Sir Tom Moore who served in the Duke’s also. I therefore, ran 33 and then 76 miles to honour him and raise much needed money for The Army Benevolent Fund. Six members of the Duke’s family both soldiers and family members have been diagnosed with MS.

I therefore am raising funds for this great cause. Finally I left the Army and joined Lancashire Police as a Police Constable. I served alongside Police Officer Mark Cruise. Cruisey was diagnosed a number of years ago with MND. He fought this cruel debilitating disease with a smile and determination. With great sadness he passed away in January this year.

I would therefore like to dedicate this epic run to Cruisey and the three charities ABF, Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
